A Tribute to Family and Children Services
(Inspired by Karen, a Driver for FACS)
By David Smith December 3, 2008
Driving for FACS hit a nerve;
The Children’s Aide; the families they serve.
Parents don’t appreciate how much they go out on a limb
Yet, the family, in distress, before FACS entre in.
Expose the vulnerability, help is at the door;
Let them see the need; what they can restore.
The focus is on the child, parents’ needs take a back seat
Working with FACS will elevate a lot of heat.
To have gone through the emotion; with a son in foster care;
Then to have custody; no other trail can compare.
Driving for FACS; my mind goes back
The love of a family; keep relationships on track.
