Reflections from a Spouse

Reflections from a Spouse

By David Smith November 19, 2008

His poetry is trying as he reads from day to day;

Why can’t he do what’s practical as life gets in his way.

He writes of every colour and racial slurs to share;

Reflects the passion and the mood;

People as they care.

And so he brings to light emotion and the spark;

Hits the nerves of others; to pierce so very sharp.

His poetry is metaphors and similes so dense;

And half of what I understand makes not a lot of sense.

So I shake my head

Why people want to hear.

Yet reads with passion;

And thinks his words are clear.
