A Painting is worth a Thousand Words
By David Smith April 15, 2009
Painters are lazy writers; a thousand words they brush;
Paint a scene so vividly without a whisper or quiet hush.
The scene in massive colour; the pallet stained galore;
To let emotions trickle as tears fall to the floor.
A painting’s worth a thousand words; and it hits home so hard.
Where emotion takes us back to where life was scarred.
Painters are lazy writers, they picture what is felt.
Looking at a masterpiece a heart can boil or melt.
O the talented artist who can let emotion run;
And capture it on canvas for all the viewers’ fun.
