The Menu

The Menu

By David Smith August 25, 2009

The menu is a masterpiece as I see it on the wall.

Suspended from the ceiling, the letters are straight and tall.

The skill within the artist’s hand;

As chalk is taken and marked like fine sand.

The printing, the sandwich, the chalk used with skill;

It’s the artist.

The discipline,

The viewer’s greatest thrill;

Seeing the prices and visualizing the cup

To the artist, we toast, and take another sup.
