Poetry Reading at Balzac’s
By David Smith November 13, 2009
The Poetry reading on downtown Queen;
The coffee shop buzzing; where excitement had been
Poetry of the past; from the library we hear
The power of the falls; the residence held dear.
To be an entertainer, the flavor to recite
The life and times on Queen last night.
To love the audience embraced by the applause;
Building a bridge and tearing down the walls;
Communication with people;
A common interest we see
How historic downtown affects you and me.
O what a joy in the darkness we leave
A spring in the step; fond memories to cleave.
