Be Nervous! Engage the Audience
By David Smith November 24, 2009
Public Speaking to an audience so free;
Like shifting gears, the power for all to see.
To engage the clutch and put it in gear;
Give it the gas, the timing, to fear;
The engine may stall;
The audience may tune out;
When to be silent; and when to shout.
Nervous energy keeps an audience awake.
Control that energy with vibration and shake.
Be nervous when speaking before a crowd.
The excitement, the respect,
Makes applause good and loud;
It’s all control, like engaging the clutch.
Being so smooth and radiate so much.
