Tradition of Christmas Past

Tradition of Christmas Past

By David Smith November30, 2009

All the Christmas songs, without the breath of snow;

Something is seriously wrong,

In Canada as you know.

We are noted for the snow, and the arctic chill;

The uncomfortable fall weather is not a pleasant thrill.

Tradition of winters is only in Christmas’ past

With memories of mom and dad;

If childhood could only last;

Tobogganing and sledding and outdoor fun and games

It’s only a reflection;

Global warming now we blame.

When our ancestors said, “It was cold;”

I can certainly believe;

And as the Arctic’s melting, we pretend we are naive.
