Tears to Cheers

Tears to Cheers

By David Smith March 22, 2010

The rain comes down like a depressing flood

As tears and anxiety turn to mud.

A depressing day, puddles we see

Darkness at noon saddens me.

The snow is gone, spring in the air

The time change arrived,

More daylight to compare;

In spring we heard of the popular refrain;

“April Showers bring May flowers”

The weather seems to be to our gain.

We do have the depressing flood,

That’s the hope;

New growth from the mud;

So take our tears and all of life’s fears;

That’s the fuel to enrich our years.
