Adventure with Grandchildren
By David Smith April 5, 2011
My grandsons to the park, for a walk we went;
Like two little dogs as their energy was spent.
With a stick in their mouth and a twig in their hand
To keep on the sidewalk so they won’t play in the sand.
Up on the slides and the swings in the park
Bursts of energy as they sing like a lark
O to photograph as they play so well
The joy of a grandfather, a purpose I could tell
And having their mother take part in the fun
A family of joy as we exercise and run.
The quality time with a grandpa they had
Brings back memories of my own mom and dad
That is the joy the gift children give
A hope for the next generation to live.
