Welland High Fire: Emotions Fume

Welland High Fire: Emotions Fume

By David Smith June 19, 2011

History up in smoke as fire consumes

Welland High as emotion fumes

A feeling of sadness as flames engulf

Emotions from youth are rather rough

Why couldn’t it happen when I was in school?

Where fire drills were anything but cool

Now it happens after years of neglect

My teachers in high school finally get respect.

My student years gone, the building in ruin

Only a memory that keeps on brewing

My high school years, walking up and down the hall

The sound of the bell, the next class was the call

Memories of school daze came fast and hard

The flames of the building, my memory is charged

Welland High means a lot

Now it’s gone, embrace the memories we got.
