Taking the Off-ramp
By David Smith May 24, 2012
Lost in Detroit as change is wild
The freeway is paralyzed, the off ramp comes alive
Temperature getting warm as tempers start to glow
Experience of driving an adventure we know
Leaving sarcasm out the window
The pleasure I could feel
First time in Detroit, the excitement is real.
Michigan Avenue going east as we crawl
The river we could feel, the Bridge over all
O what a joy, new ground we did tread
Back into Canada success fills my head.
To experience life, with adrenaline we touch
Taking the off-ramp enriches us so much
Lost in a city, only a frame of mind
To get back on course a joy we can find.
