The Sky Light

The Sky Light
By David Smith June 16, 2015

The skylight at the hotel fascinates me
The centre piece of the lobby for all to see
Like a tower that reaches the sky
And glare of the sun as it radiates on by

The windows, the panes, of rectangular glass
All squared off for a posh-ness, a value of class
A beautiful rug on the floor at the base
The slit in the ceiling the skylight we face

That is the climax as dreams start to rise
It’s imagination that touches the skies
And seeing the skylight, that vision of hope
The fuel for success on earth as we cope

The skylight at the hotel, a picture I see
It’s to look within. What is anchoring me.
